Panos Papadopoulos’ autobiography, Panos: My Life, My Odyssey, published by LID Publishing, has caught the attention of Swedish media. The author and the book were covered in the influential newspapers Göteborgs-Posten and Expressen.

Göteborg-Posten presents Panos as the swimsuit king who “revolutionised the fashion for swimwear in the 1980s”. The newspaper goes on to describe the book that reveals the life story of Panos as an extraordinary biography.

Panos officially presented his autobiography at a glamorous event in the Swedish capital Stockholm on 31st May. The event was held at one of the city’s top venues – Nobis Hotel. The evening brought together more than 250 guests among whom were some of the most influential persons in Sweden – from musicians and entrepreneurs to designers and influencers.

The evening began with a speech from LID Publishing’s Martin Liu, who congratulated Panos on the publication of his autobiography: “When Panos first reached out to me about this book project I was immediately curious and began researching this man from Greece who went to Sweden and became a celebrity fashion designer.

“I think what really captured my intention was the human elements or the very human stories that filled Panos’ career and his life.”

Some of Panos’ closest friends then shared stories about their friendship with the author and how he managed to build his multi-million-dollar fashion empire – Panos Emporio –  from scratch.

The highlight of the evening was the interview Panos Papadopoulos gave on the stage to Alexandra Pascalidou, an influential Swedish journalist, about the book.

After the event, Panos expressed his delight about the huge support he received from friends and colleagues: ‘’I feel amazing because it was great to meet with so many people once again as I haven’t seen many of them for a few years now. It was a crazy night, but it was fantastic!

“What I’ll take with me tonight are all the comments I got after my speech. People say I’m a big inspiration to them. And this makes me very happy!”

One of the VIP guests during the evening was the famous violinist Linda Lampenius who shared her excitement about Panos’ book: “It’s amazing what he has done. He made an empire from scratch. I truly think he’s amazing. In the book, I’m mostly curious to read about the beginning, how he started from zero and then got his ideas and became so successful.”

Dr Alban, one of Sweden’s most popular singers, shared: “I’m most excited to read about his [Panos’] journey from his point of view. That would be really interesting.”
